Celebrity Travel: Go away with Arianna Davis

Jae-Ha Kim, Tribune Content Agency on

Arianna Davis portrays a college cheerleader on the NBC series “Stumble.” As someone who started dance lessons at the age of two, Davis – who is also a singer-songwriter – is a perfect fit for this mockumentary sitcom, which delves into the intense and cut-throat world of competitive cheerleading. “Madonna is a powerhouse tumbler-dancer-cheerleader,” she said of her talented, but complicated character. “She also happens to have narcolepsy.”

Davis currently splits her time between Indiana, where she grew up, and New York, where she works. Fans may stay in touch with her via Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/aridavis5678/).

Q: Where do you film “Stumble”?

A: We filmed on a stage in New York City and the surrounding areas. I love working at our stages because it feels like home base. [But] working on location is always a blast.

Q: If you could pick a location to film a project, where would it be?

A: Randomly, I’d love to film in Washington State or Oregon. I've seen that there is insanely beautiful nature there. I love the gloomy forests. I feel like it would be so mystical to film there.

Q: Do you have any upcoming trips planned?

A: I [had] a trip back to my hometown, Indianapolis, for the holidays. I [couldn’t] wait to spend time with my family and my puppies.

Q: Have you visited places for work that were so nice that you traveled back there later

for a personal trip?

A: San Francisco was a joy. I'm from a landlocked state, so when I got there for work and saw the beautiful ocean town, I was mesmerized. I later visited with my family and did all of the activities by the water.

Q: What is your favorite vacation destination?

A: I loved Amsterdam because of the Van Gogh Museum.

Q: Do you work while you’re on vacation?

A: Everything is always a workcation. It's only once in a blue moon that I get to travel just for fun.

Q: What untapped destination should people know about?

A: If you want a city vibe without all of the sensory overload, I'd say downtown Indianapolis is a great spot.

Q: What was a trip you took as a child that stands out?

A: My family and I would always travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for dance competitions. It was probably some of the best parts of my childhood.

Q: If you could only pick one place to eat, would you prefer a food truck or fine dining?

A: I’d prefer a food truck, because casual eating is more my style.

Q: Where are your favorite weekend getaways?

A: I love roaming in Brooklyn!

Q: Do you have a knack for picking up new languages?

A: Unfortunately, learning languages is not my strong suit, but I do love trying new accents.

Q: What are your five favorite cities?

A: New York, Amsterdam, Indianapolis, London and Jackson (Mississippi).

Q: Where would you like to go that you have never been to before?

A: I'd love to go to Ireland.

Q: When you go away, what are some of your must-have items?

A: I must have my headphones and a bunch of playlists ready to go. I also must have a journal so that I can write music.

Q: What kind of research do you do before you go away on a trip?

A: I always have to know where the best places to eat are.
